Privacy policy

Last updated: 31 Aug 2026

This policy explains which personal data Finanzli processes. The revised Swiss Data Protection Act (revDSG) and, where applicable, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) apply.

Controller

[TODO(gründer): controller, name and address]

Contact for data protection requests: [TODO(gründer): data protection email address]

Public calculators

The retirement calculators run entirely in your browser. Your inputs are not transmitted to a server and not stored.

Account

If you create an account, we process your email address and a password stored in hashed form. Sign-in uses the better-auth library with sessions in our database.

The purpose is operating the account. The legal basis is performance of the usage contract.

Email delivery

Transactional emails such as confirmation and password links are sent via Mailgun. We use Mailgun's EU infrastructure; the sender address is noreply@mg.finanzli.ch.

In doing so, your email address and the content of the respective email are processed by Mailgun as a processor.

Hosting

The application and the PostgreSQL database run on a server at Hetzner in Germany.

Bot protection

From a later stage we protect forms with Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile is not active at the moment.

Analytics and cookies

We currently use no analytics or tracking tools and no advertising cookies. Only technically necessary cookies for sign-in are set.

Web analytics is planned for a later stage and will be added here at that point.

Sharing of data

Data is shared only with the processors named above for hosting and email delivery, and only as far as necessary for operation.

Retention

Account data is kept until the account is deleted and is then erased, unless a statutory retention obligation applies.

Your rights

You have the right to information, correction, deletion and data portability, as well as the right to object to certain processing.

To exercise these rights, contact: [TODO(gründer): contact address for data subject requests]. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority, in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

Changes

We update this policy when the processing changes. The version published on this page applies.
